Snug & Outdoor were employed as consultants for this major new play facility in Cork. Our brief was to work closely with CSR and Kompan to ensure quality of design and accessibility were paramount throughout the commissioning process. We were instrumental in defining the harbour themes for the playground, and using historical aspects of the docks and harbour on the River Lee as inspiration.

The client's requirements, with a very tight budget, was for "an inclusive, integrated play space that will attract a wide group of users, regardless of age, size or physical, sensory, mental health or intellectual ability or disability". As well as offering sensory stimulation and providing risk and challenge, the playground should be an "iconic and contemporary" addition to the park.

The resulting playground provides Cork city with a much-needed facility, and was delivered a month ahead of schedule!
