Blackpool Headlands

In 2009 we were invited to contribute designs for the new headlands being built on the Blackpool seafront, two of which were being designated as large play spaces.
We envisioned a spectacular landscape of play, filled with original structures and lanscaping which would provide a full spectrum of imaginative and physical play, creating an exciting environment for all ages to enjoy together. Our design proposals included an innovative Adventure Playground constructed from vast timber beams and incorporating loose-parts equipment, dramatic Climbing Corals in a range of sizes, and a wholly original Trim Trail which included the 'Big Swing' - a spectacular line of swings on a long arc.
