The aim of this project was to engage young people on the estate in a design process that ensured that their needs were at the heart of the new scheme for a teenage space.

The core of the consultation took place on the proposed Teenage Space site itself, which became an experimental and social space for two weeks. Objects such as large ramps, platforms, steps, wooden crates, and a temporary shelter were utilised by the teenagers to shape the space for themselves.

A variety of activities and workshops also took place on the site and an interactive Cowley Teenage Space web site provided up to date information and featured the young people's ideas, photos and questions.
